Wonderful Honey!

Thank God for Bees,  honey,  and the wax they make!

Honey  has wonderful emollient properties. You don't need a lot in a batch of soap for it to do it's job. Using too much will cause a softer soap. About 1-2 Tbsp to 2-3 lbs of soap is good.

*Hygroscopic in nature honey it is often called a "humectant".  By naturally absorbing moisture from the air honey will trap in and seal in the moisture leaving the skin soft and supple. By keeping the skin moist it will encourage new tissue to grow and prevent drying.

Honey also has anti microbial agents which prohibits certain bacteria to grow by an enzyme that produces hydrogen peroxide.

Not only is honey itself wonderful for the skin, but so is the wax the bees make to hold that precious liquid! It has a beautiful golden color with a light honey-like scent. It can be used as a thickener, and will transform oils into wonderful lip balms, salves, body balms and much, much more.

Beeswax will not clog pores and will form a light barrier on your skin, sealing in moisturizing butters and oils.

Products with all natural beeswax in it is incredibly good for the skin. It will not only moisturizer, but rejuvenate the skin. Few ingredients, along with the beeswax are needed for it to preform wonders on your skin.

Honey comes as little beads......
or in bar form....

If you choose to add beeswax to your soaps  you may find you will come to trace a bit faster, and it will produce a harder bar of soap.

The best beeswax is not bleached, deodorized, or processed chemically in anyway.

Happy Monday!
